Great scheme for Aadhaar and ration card holders — Rs. five lakh assistance for agricultural wells, fish farming, sheep sheds! 02

The state government has now announced a new type of financial assistance scheme under the MGNREGA scheme . Under this scheme, farmers with Aadhaar card and ration card will get free assistance of up to ₹5 lakh directly from the government for the construction of agriculture-related infrastructure .

 Objective of the project – Farmer self-reliance

The state government’s objective is clear — farmers should build irrigation facilities on their land and earn additional income through fish farming or animal husbandry on the same land.

This is not just a financial assistance, but a scheme to divide the sources of income of farmers .
If done this way, farmers will get benefits in all three ways – from land, water, and animal husbandry.

 Subsidy details

The financial assistance provided by the government under this scheme is divided as follows:

Sheep or goat shed construction ₹80,000
Total subsidy amount ₹5,00,000

This money is directly deposited into the farmer’s bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) .

 Who is eligible?

This scheme is only for farmers and rural economically backward families .
Some of the eligibility criteria set by the government are as follows:

  • Applicants must have Aadhaar card and ration card .

  • Must be farmers or pastoralists from rural areas .

  • The applicant’s name should be in the Gram Panchayat NREGA list .

  • At least one acre of land must be registered in their name.

  • The annual income of the family should be less than ₹2.5 lakh.

  • Those who have received assistance under other similar schemes are not eligible for this scheme.

 Required documents

Farmers must prepare the following documents to apply for the scheme:

  • Aadhar card copy

  • Ration card

  • Pahani or RTC (Land Record)

  • Copy of bank passbook

  • Passport size photo

  • Mobile number (must be Aadhaar linked)

  • Gram Panchayat Certificate (for confirmation of farmer status)

 Benefits available under the scheme

  1. Construction of agricultural wells:
    Farmers can dig irrigation wells in their fields. The government will provide ₹1.5 lakh for this.
    These wells can be used for rainwater harvesting, irrigation, and fish farming.

  2. Fish farming subsidy:
    The government will provide ₹2 lakh for fish farming using agricultural ponds as water retention ponds.
    Under this, assistance will be provided for fish fry, food, and net systems.

  3. Construction of goat/sheep shed:
    Farmers will be given ₹80,000 to build a shed to keep their animals safe.
    The size and design of this shed will be suggested by the Animal Husbandry Department.

     How to apply

Via online:

  1. Visit the official website of the Gram Panchayat or Taluk NREGA.

  2. Go to the “Farmers’ Agricultural Well Assistance” section.

  3. Open a new application form.

  4. Fill in the required information – name, address, bank details, bank number, etc.

  5. Upload scanned copies of the necessary documents.

  6. Click the “Submit” button and collect the application number.

Offline:

  1. Go to the nearest Gram Panchayat NREGA office or Agriculture Department office .

  2. Get the application form and fill it out.

  3. Submit the required documents attached.

  4. The officials will review and approve the application.

 Important dates

  • Application for the project begins: It has started this month.

  • Last date for submission of application: Will be announced at the Gram Panchayat level.

Therefore, it is advisable for eligible farmers to contact and apply immediately.

 Money release process

After the application is reviewed, the first installment of ₹2 lakh will be deposited in the bank account of the selected farmers. The remaining ₹3 lakh will be released in the second installment
after the construction of the well is completed .

The entire process is tracked through the NREGA platform — the money comes directly to the farmer’s account without any intermediaries.
